The Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place every January and is planned and organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The announcement of the nominations is happening a month before the scheduled winners’ declaration ceremony and it is generally a press conference, held by an appointed spokesperson. The reason why the Golden Globes are scheduled to be held in January was seen in the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awards are viewed as the introduction to the Academy Awards. Most of the time, when a motion picture sweeps the Golden Globes, it gets picked by the Academy as well, the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards just prove the point, the movie “Slumdog Millionaire” swept the Globes and is now irrationally considered for a dozen awards at the Oscars. The plans for the annual gala with the associated banquet are a generally very straight forward affair. The invited elite includes the whole “A” list of actors and actresses, who are all invited to participate in the awards presentations as well; the selection of Hollywood and entertainment industry bigwigs and head honchos, whereby it is made sure that all nominees are included, as well as associated production company executives and distribution heads; all Hollywood Foreign Press Association members are invited; all other nominees and associated pertinent individuals are invited as well. The planning for the awards gala takes most of the time, whereby it gets really hectic in the month after the nominations are issued. Seating is very limited, therefore cuts are being made and sometimes last minute adjustments are being made. Professional organizers for events of such magnitude are being hired, a list of associated publicists is available on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association official website. There is no use in asking for a ticket, if you are not invited, you are not getting in.
