The Golden Globe awards do provide a nice public relation push, mainly for the motion pictures that failed at the box office and need something which will sell them when the DVD is out. The peculiar choice of “deserving” nominees, not to mention winners, is akin to the wannabe artsy Academy Awards, but at least the Academy has an excuse with the huge list of members. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association neglects the taste of the non-American people, biting the hand that was supposed to be feeding them.
